Hello, I am Katy and I am an Musculoskeletal Therapist. I graduated with a first class honours degree in Sport and Exercise Therapy, with full Society membership. I completed a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice in 2018, my thesis was based on concussion in horse riders. I started my Professional Doctorate in February 2024, this will take at least 4 years to complete (I will keep you updated on progress). It is a Musculoskeletal Therapist job to assess, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate occupational and sporting injuries (anything musculoskeletal eg. joint, bone, muscle). It has always been my intention to run a private practice that is affordable, honest, with a no-nonsense approach. No gimicks or fads, just a good evidence based approach.

2013-2015 I undertook a 2 year therapy internship with Gloucester Rugby which gave me vast experience; working with seasoned Physiotherapists, Doctors, Strength and conditioning coaches and nutritionists. I have spent many years working in amateur rugby union and semi-professional rugby league which has given me a huge understanding of how to reach an athletes optimal strength. Alongside this I also have experience with GB ice hockey, the Olympic Malawi team as well as other professional atheletes from different sports. I have spent the last 9 years working in private practice which has allowed me to see a variation of injuries including total hip replacements and frozen shoulder!

I have spent time working with the elite academy players at Hartpury College including equine, modern pent, rowing and womens rugby; it has been insightful working with younger athletes. Since January 2020 I have been lecturing at the University of Gloucestershire to educate future Therapists, I take much pride in this role because we need future therapists to sustain the ever growing need for MSK health in the UK.

Not only do I love being involved in sport as a therapist, I personally love sport. I am a third dan black belt in kickboxing and wadaru. I have run various half Marathon's, mud runs and mini triathlons. The biggest love is of course, horses, I have been riding since I was three years old. I also love a good challenge, maybe one of my greatest achievements to date is climbing Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya.
